Fort Worth, Tx- A group of Fort Worth pastors are standing up and combating the blasphemy of a group of Atheists promoting a message on the side of city buses that life is good without God.

"Christians must boycott the Fort Worth T," said Rev. Kyev Tatum, president of the Tarrant County Southern Christian Leadership Conference."Our message is clear. Don't ride the Fort Worth T until they respect the big G."

Pastors are concerned that the anti-God signs on the city buses are inappropriate and offensive to Christians , the greater faith community and others who believe in God living throughout the community.

"We are offended by the anti-God signs," said Bishop B.E. George, leader for Ministers Against Crime."We are very disappointed that the T-Transportation Authority would approve this, especially the season when Christians around the world are celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ."

The Dallas-Fort Worth Coalition Of Reason paid $2500 to have the ads run for 30 days that assert  that over a million people do well without God in their lives.

The Dallas-Fort Worth Coalition of Reason is an umbrella organization that includes the Metroplex Atheists, the Freethinkers of University of Texas-Arlington, the Humanist Association of Ft. Worth and the North Texas Church of Freethought and others groups.

Local atheists seem to be drawing boldness from campaigns already underway from New York to Seattle, Washington.
The campaigns seem to be motivated by a book called  “Good Without God” by Greg Epstein. The works and influence of Epstein, a Harvard University humanist chaplain, is gaining strength and bolstering humanists and athiests nationwide.

Other books on atheism, including best-selling ones by Richard Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens, have also helped to give visibility to an “atheism awakening,” where atheists have been finding strength in numbers.

One of the largest promotions for these groups to date has been in Great Britain where over 800 advertisements were places on buses encouraging people not to worry because there probably is no God.

"Anytime you take God out of Good, you are left with nothing but an "O" and that stands for zero," said Dr. F.D. Lawson, pastor of the harmony Missionary Baptist Church and SCLC board member."The group represents many faith-based and civil rights groups will determine the right course of action to denounce the decision by city leaders."

The Dallas Area Regional Transit Authority would not allow the group to buy ads and no longer allows religious ads on its buses.

Several employees for the T are also upset with the move to advertise the message and are planning protests against the decision to approve the signs.

Tatum said after pastors plan to follow the biblical admonition to defend the faith and preach truth in a world lost and dying in sin.

"Dr. King led one of the most effective boycott in American history because of how the city treated Mrs. Rosa Parks," Tatum said. "We have a Christian obligation and responsibility to stand up and speak out against ungodly foolishness. This is not the right way Fort Worth!!"
