Response to Obama Threats
Eddie Griffin, BASG
We have all read the stories about the post-election threats on the life of Barack Obama. We have all prayed for the new President, without ceasing. But this threat takes the cake in absurdity.
In a Maine convenience store, an Associated Press reporter saw a sign inviting customers to join a betting pool on when Obama might fall victim to an assassin. The sign solicited $1 entries into "The Osama Obama Shotgun Pool," saying the money would go to the person picking the date closest to when Obama was attacked. "Let's hope we have a winner," said the sign, since taken down.
Here it is, in the open, a growing conspiracy to assassinate the President of the United States.
Why wasn’t the Maine convenience store owner not arrested, and the assassin lottery listt confiscated and investigated, as part of the conspiracy to overthrow the sovereignty of the United States by assassin.
I strongly disagree with Joseph Funk, Secret Service agent turned security consultant. This is more than "increased chatter". This is a conspiracy to overthrow the government and will of the majority of the people. The chatter comes from the 1860 election of Abraham Lincoln, which manifested itself into a full blown plot to overthrow the government.
I disagree with Funk. The assassination threats are predicated upon one thing, and one thing alone: The color of Barack Obama's skin. There is a white right to rule by divine order and the associated racial bigotry ingrained in the heads of some people, flames fanned by right-wing radio. The South cannot see straight when it comes to a black man becoming the president of the most powerful nation in the world. This kind of hatred is unimaginable to Northerners.
Gone are the days of racism. Some 53% of America declared the supremecy of white rule is ended.
The name of the game has changed. You cannot threaten the life of just any black man, and forget that he is the President of the United States. Such threats cannot be considered simple chatter, because it threatens our national security and the well being of a nation.
It is time to put hate groups, like the KKK, on the domestic terrorist watch list, and go after them like al-Qaeda. As far al-Qaeda abroad, who are hidden in the mountains, the new president should call for their surrender and would be well within his rights to level the mountains to dessert sand.
Power doesn't come cheap!
